I was was bought up on a farm, where, in the main it was sheep that were kept. Both my parents bred dogs, Mother the miniature Pinscher, and Father the wire-haired German Pointer under prefix Sandsjö. As a young girl, I owned a German Pointer called Lana, and I completed her training. Later, as a teenager I worked at a kennels that had German Shepherds. When I settled down with Jaroslav the dream of a Bulldog grew stronger for both of us, as we found that this breed is very fascinating with lots of personality. In the same time as we got our first litter we were looking for a suitable name for our kennel, and a lot of names were contemplated, but in the end we decided to go for 'Lay Back'. The name is derived from the the characteristic slope of the bulldog nose, called 'the laid back'. Though today some people think the prefix is 'Layed Back' which in fact reflects the very true side of bulldogs since they know how to enjoy life!
